Who we are and what we do

Visit Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns is the official Destination Management Organisation for the area. Our role is to ensure that Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns is a leading destination for tourism, culture and business.

We are a not-for-profit partnership working together to boost the visitor economy and support businesses in promoting Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns far and wide as a great destination to visit.

Our website - visitbuckinghamshire.org - is the most visited tourism website in the county, providing ideas and inspiration on the best places to visit, stay, eat and drink, including a variety of events that take place across the region all year round.

Our tourism business community is as diverse as you would expect in a county built on ingenuity and entrepreneurialism. As well as being blessed with some of the most visited National Trust properties in the county, such as Cliveden, Stowe, Waddesdon Manor and Hughenden, attractions like Bekonscot Model Village, Silverstone and Go Ape create a fun-filled destination for all types of visitor.

The landscape is diverse, from canals and the River Thames to the Chiltern Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

We also have a very strong food and drink offering, with an abundance of award-winning restaurants, farm shops, breweries, vineyards and gin distilleries. We are also well served with a variety of very good accommodation and transport providers, all working together within Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns / all working together with Visit Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns.

How we came to be

Visit Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns has been running as a Destination Management Organisation (DMO) since 2016. The DMO is hosted and managed by Buckinghamshire Business First (BBF), which acts as the Accountable Body, along with a partnership with Buckinghamshire Council and The Local Area Partnership.
