The Buckinghamshire Registration Service holds records of births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships, stillbirths & adoptions.

A bit about us

The Buckinghamshire Registration Service has a statutory duty to register all births, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships, still births and adoptions that occur in the County Of Buckinghamshire.

The service is also responsible for issuing copies of certificates, taking Notice of Marriage and Civil Partnership (legal preliminaries for marriages and partnerships), conducting group and private Citizenship Ceremonies and licensing venues for Civil Marriage & Partnerships.

The Service also offer Non-statutory services including  Renewal of Vows and Naming ceremonies, Nationality Checking Service, Joint Citizenship & Passport Application Service; European Passport Referral Service, Change of Name Deed and the Tell Us Once service.

The main offices are located in County Hall Aylesbury and in the Beaconsfield Old Town. There are also three smaller offices located in the libraries in High Wycombe, Amersham and Buckingham.

On average the services activity levels per annum: 

  • 3500 deaths 
  • 5500 births 
  • 4000 Notices of Marriage & Civil Partnership
  • 1600 ceremonies per annum (Register & Conduct)

In addition the service Issues on average 5000 copy certificates and has contact with 19000 customer per annum.
