Find Frithsden and you'll find the award-winning Alford Arms: a pubby gem nestling in its secluded wooded valley. The great Ashridge forest
Quietly hidden away in a tiny hamlet on the edge of the National Trust’s Ashridge Estate, this pretty, cottage-style pub is well worth seeking out.
The Alford Arms serves first class cuisine in an informal atmosphere. The country pub successfully blends a stylishly modernised interior with tiled and wooden floors, and old scrubbed-pine tables, with some imaginative modern British cooking that relies on quality, local, free range and organic produce where possible.
Great care is taken in the presentation of the dishes and the flavours shine through.
There are a good range of ales and a raft of wines offered by the glass. On warm days, tables spill out on to the front terrace.
Dogs, Children and Muddy Boots Welcome.
The Alford Arms is sister pub to Royal Oak in Marlow.
