Gladiator Games

Gladiator Games

Come and watch the Gladiator Games!

If you’re looking for a great educational and fun family event for a day out this May half-term, then come and see our Gladiator Games. The Roman’s have captured a British Chieftain and now he must take part in the Gladiator Games and fight for survival!

The Gladiator Games will be brought to life by Britannia, one of the largest (and oldest) re-enactment groups in the U.K., they will be demonstrating the excitement and brutality of life in the late Roman period. Britannia has worked on over 150 TV and film projects, including Ridley Scott’s Gladiator and CBBC’s Horrible Histories.

On the day

  • Meet costumed re-enactors, explore the living history encampment and learn about life in Britain in the 1st century AD
  • Enjoy thrilling combat displays in the Gladiator Games at 12pm and 3pm
  • Buy your own replica Roman gladiator weapons in the shop
  • Be warned, there may be (fake) blood – not for those of a sensitive disposition!

Please be aware that all activities are subject to change and weather.
