A bit about us

There is something for everyone at Wendover Woods and with 325 hectares of deciduous and conifer woodland, the whole family can be kept entertained. If you're feeling energetic, try Go-Ape! Tree Top Adventure, orienteering, or the fitness trail assault course. There are also plenty of spots to admire the view or enjoy a picnic. 

 

Stunning walks

There are walks for all abilities at Wendover Woods with stunning views across The Vale. There is an 'Easy access' trail suitable for buggies and wheel chairs. With the ridgeway close by, the Wendover Woods Cafe is the perfect place to start and finish a walk. 


Play Trail

Open all year round, the children's play trail, built on an all-ability surface, is very popular with all ages. The children can then go wild in the woods; building dens and climbing trees. 


Go Ape Treetop Challenge

Go Ape offers physically and mentally challenging adventure high up in the trees for the family. You will be given instruction before trekking from tree to tree high above the woodland floor. Split into a number of different sections, the experience takes approximately 2.5-3 hours to complete. 

Go Ape Treetop Adventure 

Think intricate crossings, wobbly bridges and brilliant zip wires finales - Go Ape Treetop Adventure is family-fuelled fun in the great outdoors. Designed with the younger family in mind you can either harness up and join in or cheer on from the forest floor during this 1 hour experience.


Gruffalo Orienteering course

Try our fun, navigational challenge at Wendover Woods using a simple map to find twelve Gruffalo markers hidden in the deep, dark wood. You can buy the maps from the Information Point for just £1.50.

 

Bird and wildlife watching

Wendover Woods attracts birds of many different species, these include the Crossbill and the Firecrest. Enjoy watching feeders the birds and check out the bird hide on the Firecrest Trail through the woodland.


Mountain biking and cycling

Wendover Woods offers a family cycle trail which is 8 miles long and allows you to take in the beauty of the Chilterns as you cycle up hill and down Aylesbury Vale. With easy access to the Aston Hill Downhill Mountain biking area, it is the ideal base or starting point.
