Explore Great Missenden and spot the key sights that relate to Roald Dahl's books and life.
Great Missenden was home to Roald Dahl for 36 years until his death in 1990. He wrote all of his children's books and many of his adult short stories in the Writing Hut he had built in his garden. Many of Roald Dahl's stories are based in and around the village. The Village Trail helps you to explore the local area and point out key sights that relate to these tales and his life, such as Danny's Dads petrol pumps in Danny, the Champion of the World, Sophie's orphanage in The BFG and Matilda's library.
