Roald Dahl's Countryside Trail

Explore some of the Chiltern countryside that Roald Dahl loved.

A bit about us

Great Missenden was home to Roald Dahl for 36 years until his death in 1990. He wrote all of his children's books and many of his adult short stories in the Writing Hut he had built in his garden. Many of Roald Dahl's stories are based in and around the village. The Countryside Trail helps you to explore the local area and point out key sights that relate to these tales and his life.

Including:

1.Angling Spring Wood

2. Angling Spring Farm

3. Green Lane

4. Atkins Wood

The walk is unsignposted and stile free with shorts scetions of steep, rough ground and may be muddy! Allow at least an hour and don't forget to bring your pencils and notebooks for some of the activites available to downnload!

For information behind the trail, see the Roald Dahl Museum website or pick up a leaflet at the Museum!
