A bit about us

High Wycombe has a wonderful heritage and in 1875 made 4,700 chairs a day !!

Our Museum tour includes a description of their tools and how the Bodgers worked in the local Beechwoods making the round parts of a chair. The Benchmen made the other chair parts, the finished Windsor chairs were assembled by the Framer.  A short demo is included on the shave horse, pole and treadle lathe and what tools were used. An explanation on the range of displayed Windsor chairs and their origin etc.

Our Art gallery has a range of Artists work in a variety of mediums and also includes stunning photography prints, Raku fire ceramics, Kraftinwood bowls, hollow forms, vases  etc.  Eggcraft  ~ made using egg shells then decorated and painted.

Opening times 9-5pm, closed Thursday and Sunday 12 to 5pm.

Follow the Brown road tourist signs which will direct you straight to our door.
