Shopping - your Christmas gift guide

With sustainability on the top of everyone's minds and some supply chain issues, why not buy something locally and take the stress out of shopping?

Our Market Towns

Make Christmas easy by shopping in your local market town. Buckinghamshire has many to choose from and they all have a mixture of independent local retailers and big brands with many holding Christmas markets too. With a rather low key Christmas last year, our town centres are eager to make up for it this year with extra events and incentives to shop local. It's a greener option too!

Christmas Markets

Going to a Christmas market is an essential part of the run up to the big day. Waddesdon will be running its traditional wooden chalet market in front of the manor for you to stock up on presents and enjoy some festive nibbles and drinks as you shop. They'll be over 80 stalls with many handmade gifts and you can enjoy the lights and soak up the Christmas vibes at the same time. The market is on until Dec 23rd but the Winter Light show is continuing until 23rd January, with a new light show on the parterre. The online shop at Waddesdon is also a great place to find lovely gifts and souvenirs of the Manor and Estate. Aylesbury Christmas Craft & Gift Fair will be taking place on Sun 5th December with plenty of stalls in the Market Square, surrounded by festive decorations to get you in the holiday mood. Chiltern Open Air Museum are holding a Christmas weekend on 4th and 5th too. You can shop at their small Christmas market, meet costumed inhabitants in their historic buildings and learn about how Christmas was celebrated in the past. Mental health charity Lindengate is holding an illuminated night walk and nature trail which includes gift stalls as well as refreshements and entertainment. Pick up a lovely handmade gift and support the charity at the same time.
