What's on this Easter

With spring comes Easter and new beginnings. It's a great time to get out in to that beautiful Bucks countryside, see the lambs and spring flowers, and indulge in a chocolate or two.

Easter Afternoon Tea 

Stylish independent hotel Horwood House is serving up a delicious Easter afternoon tea with a selection of savouries, sweet treats and a glass of fizz. This newly refurbished hotel is a mix of botanical heritage and Scandi chic interiors with a mission to demonstrate 'hospitality from the heart' in all that they do, so you're guaranteed a lovely warm welcome. If you book for Easter Sunday, the kids can also take part in an Easter Egg hunt in their beautiful grounds.

 

Spring into Easter at Odds Farm Park

Loads happening at this fabulous animal park this Easter with the Easter Bunny making appearances throughout the day, an Easter Egg hunt, silly shows with Farmer Oddsocks and Easter crafts. Best of all, you can bottle feed the baby goats, stroke the bunnies, see the baby lambs and have fun with the chickens. With indoor and outdoor play, go-carts, cafe (with Sunday carvery) and a shop bursting with goodies, this has everything to make the perfect Easter day out for the kids.

 

Easter at Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park is laying on some egg-stra special fun for all ages this Easter - crack codes and solve puzzles in an Easter Egg Hunt, learn more about binary in their egg-ceptional activities for families or join an egg-citing family tour (on selected dates). Learn all about the codebreakers of WW2 and enjoy the extensive grounds too.

 

Easter Wreath Making Workshop & Easter Egg Hunt

Come along to Danesfield House near Marlow on April 2nd and make a beautiful decoration which can be used as either a table decoration or a wreath. Hosted by Ann Laing from Ann Laing Flowers, Ann will help and guide you on how to build a beautiful wreath to take home and hang with pride using a variety of locally grown seasonal colours and foliage. All materials, tea/coffee and a hot cross bun are included in the ticket price. The hotel is also hosting an Easter Egg hunt on 3rd and 4th of April with their very own resident Easter Bunny! Kids aged up to 12 years will explore the house and more than 66 acres of gardens in search of brightly coloured eggs and bunnies. Find all the treats and there’s a delicious chocolate reward at the end (non-choc alternatives are available on request).

 

Easter Sunday Lunch

On Easter Sunday - 9th April - enjoy a delicious 3 course lunch full of local flavour followed by an afternoon stroll around the 65 acres of manicured gardens at Danesfield House Hotel. The stylish formal restaurant designed by Anoushka Hempel or the comfortable Orangery with views of the grounds are both lovely settings in which to enjoy the fine cuisine. Pure indulgence!

 

Easter Wonderland

Follow Alice down the rabbit hole and venture into your very own Wonderland this Easter. Head to Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park for action-packed fun, full of curious creatures, wonderful wildlife and live entertainment. Enjoy stories, songs and topsy-turvy games in the Mad Hatters Tea Tent, the White Rabbit farm trail, a straw maze, spring baby animals, outdoor and indoor play, plus a lovely cafe and gift shop. Perfect for younger kids.

 

Easter Weekend at COAM

Head to Chiltern Open Air Museum this Easter Bank Holiday weekend and explore their reconstructed historic buildings and learn about some Easter traditions, take part in their Easter trail and see their baby lambs. With 45 acres of grounds, including woodland, to explore and a new adventure playground, there's plenty to see and do to keep the whole family entertained.

 

Scalextric at Silverstone Interactive Museum

Silverstone Museum brings two of the most exciting British brands together this Easter with the launch of the ultimate Scalextric set. The world famous Silverstone Formula 1 Circuit has been recreated by the team at Scalextric for a brand new ‘On Track’ exhibit which enables visitors to pick up a throttle and enjoy epic battles with iconic cars around the two lane Grand Prix circuit. You can also build your own Scalextric circuit and design your own livery which could win you the chance to see your own version recreated on a real Scalextric car!

 

A Day Out With Thomas

If you've got fans of Thomas the Tank Engine, you can make their dreams come true by bringing them to a Day Out With Thomas at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre on 7th - 9th April where they can ride on a full size steam train with Thomas the Tank Engine AND Percy, AND meet Sir Topham Hatt and Rusty & Dusty, the Station Sweepers! There's also the miniature ride-on railway, train museum and much more to explore at this fascinating extensive site.

 

Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway

For more steam train fun, try the award-winning heritage Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway operating steam and vintage diesel trains alongside the Chiltern Hills on an approximately 1 - 1.5 hours round trip from Princes Risborough to Chinnor and return. On selected dates this Easter holidays, kids under 15 travel for £1!

 

Family Workshop

Explore the garden of Amersham Museum for inspiration, plant some seeds and create your own Egg Box Garden to take home and grow in their 'Create! Spring has Sprung' family workshop on 5th April. Drop in anytime between 1.30pm and 4pm. You can enjoy the history of Amersham inside the museum too, plus book onto one of their fascinating guided walks.

 

Pig Keeper Day

Spend a day at Kew Little Pigs Farm, Amersham, learning how to be a pig keeper, getting stuck in with farm tasks and getting your hands mucky. The pigs love being brushed too and at the end of the day enjoy some piggy playtime, hot chocolate and a goodie bag. Ages 7 - 16.

 

Go Ape

Have a treetop adventure in Black Park or Wendover Woods and get a birdseye view of the forest. Ropes, zip lines, nets and walkways take you on a magical journey through the tree canopy with views you wouldn't normally get to see. Or hire a segway and whizz through Black Park with the wind in your hair and no effort at all.

 

The Great Easter Bunny Hunt at Claydon Courtyard

Win a cuddly rabbit and an Easter egg this Easter at Claydon Estate. Collect a sheet from the Phoenix Kitchen (where you can enjoy a delicious brunch, lunch, snack, cake or hot drink) and find the ten Easter bunnies which are hiding around the courtyard. Once you’ve completed the challenge, hand your sheet to a member of staff at the Phoenix Kitchen to claim your prize. Plus all entries get entered into their prize draw to receive a cuddly soft bunny and an Easter egg.

 

Black Park Litter Bug Trail

Discover giant bugs made of litter around Black Park. Learn all about how to reduce, reuse, recycle and most importantly, why not to drop litter, in this free trail running from Friday 17th March to Sunday 16th April in conjunction with the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean 2023 campaign. 

 

Discover Bucks Museum

Head to the Discover Bucks Museum in Aylesbury for their Egg-cellent Easter Craft Activities in the first week of the holidays and 'Your Amazing Brain' themed crafts and activities in the second week. 
Enjoy their Easter egg trail on every day over the holidays and don’t miss their special Family Easter Event on Saturday 8th April, with an Easter show by Magical Story Elves theatre productions, Easter bonnet making and parade with a prize for winners, balloon animals, meet the Easter bunny, Easter crafts, games, trail, egg hunt and more! 

 

Ashridge Vintage Fayre

From 1st - 10th April, Ashridge House is hosting a Vintage Fayre with traditional rides, food & drink and a spring garden to enjoy. The house will also be hosting Easter Afternoon Teas on Good Friday,  a luxury Easter Feast buffet in a heritage room on Easter Sunday, brunch on Easter Monday, plus their Farmhouse Dinners are available in the Bakehouse.

 

One World Animals
