The marketing we do is the best part of our role here at Visit Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns, as we love sharing with the world all the things that visitors can discover on a trip to our beautiful county.
Website
Visitbuckinghamshire.org is the number one tourism website for the county. The website is there to provide ideas and inspiration on the very best places to stay, visit, and eat and drink at. Weekly articles are published on the website and shared on our social media channels, and we also create thematic campaigns and itineraries for the website.
Social media
Our reach and penetration across all the main social media platforms continue to grow. This provides a valuable opportunity for you to engage with new audiences and to connect with like-minded tourism business owners.
Customer-facing:
- Follow us on twitter >
- Like us on Facebook >
- Follow us on Instagram >
- Subscribe to our Youtube Channel >
Business-facing:
We also communicate with businesses via our groups on Facebook and LinkedIn and via our new twitter channel. Here, we will share useful information which we hope is helpful to you and your business. These groups also serve as a good networking opportunity with other like-minded business owners.
Email marketing
Our monthly consumer e-newsletter is a core activity for us and is designed to inspire people to visit the area and engage with our campaigns.
PR and media relations
We actively engage with the media and encourage press trips to the county.
Travel trade
We actively promote our county to the travel trade. We exhibit at a number of UK-based Group Travel Shows and also represent our membership at the various Travel Trade events we attend.
We have a dedicated Group Travel section on our website and we also have a Group Travel Guide and Group Day trip flyer both available in print. We also send out a quarterly newsletter to the travel trade.
Marketing toolkit
Available to all members is a marketing toolkit. We've put together some ‘How to’ guides to help you make the most of your membership and our website. There are useful guides on social media, including a tops tips guide and useful hashtags to use.
We have information on key dates and events both locally and nationally, such as National Afternoon Tea Day. You can also find collateral that you can use, including imagery, logos, maps and itineraries. Lastly, available to members is a directory of other organisations to approach for further information and support.
To access the Member Toolkit, please either sign in or register here with Visit Buckinghamshire and The Chilterns.
VisitBritain has also produced a Digital Marketing Toolkit that you can download here.
