The Pub Garden

Why not try The Falcon Inn in Denham overlooking the village green? This 16th century inn has a south-facing outdoor terrace where you can enjoy their excellent food, real ales, fine wines and spirits. The Colne Valley Regional Park surrounds Denham and is the perfect place to walk off lunch, plus you can stay in their 4 star bed and breakfast accommodation too. The Gate is a traditional family run pub in the Chiltern Hills, dating from 1864. It's a popular watering hole for walkers and cyclists and has a great garden with kids play equipment to keep everyone happy. The Duke of Clarence is a large, contemporary pub in Marlow with a relaxed atmosphere, cocktails, craft beers and even shuffleboard!  Its popular courtyard garden offers outside dining from a classic pub menu featuring gourmet burgers and bespoke seasonal dishes.

 

Fine Dining

Danesfield House Hotel & Spa is an elegant location for a lovely lunch or dinner on their expansive terrace overlooking their gardens and the Thames. The cuisine is Modern British, beautifully presented and served, creating an all round refined experience. The Ivy Marlow Garden brings sophisticated all-day dining to Marlow High Street, with a beautiful terrace at the restaurant’s rear for the al-fresco experience.  The diverse menu ranges from modern British classics to Asian-inspired cuisine.The Jolly Farmer at Chalfont Common is a cross between a pub and a French brasserie with a large terrace from where you can view the sunset and enjoy stylish dishes inspired by Raymond Blanc.

 

The Farm Shop cafe

Orchard view Farm has a large outdoor garden with tables and is the perfect spot to enjoy their local produce and award-winning meats served in their restaurant. Enjoy a relaxing quiet lunch down on the farm and pick up some goodies from their farm shop whilst you're there. Buckmoorend Farm has recently opened a kitchen on weekends from which to serve hot meals and drinks with produce from their farm to be enjoyed on picnic tables. Located in woodlands in the Chilterns Hills, they have a well stocked farm shop where they continue their farm to fork philosophy. Bradmoor Farm Shop & Cafe in Haddenham has a large shop and even bigger cafe with outdoor seating and plenty of lawn for kids to run around. The old chicken sheds have been converted into independent retailers and businesses so worth having a look around whilst you're there.

 

The In Town Option

Discover Bucks museum has a pretty walled garden that is a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of Aylesbury on a hot day. Enjoy a selection of sandwiches, paninis, cakes and other nibbles from the museum cafe out on the lawn and make time to visit the museum's new galleries - they are well worth a visit with some extraordinary items, such as the biggest Anglo-Saxon coin hoard ever discovered and a 3000 year old bronze age sword. Satollo Café and Wine Bar offers authentic, freshly prepared Italian food in bustling Liston Court, set just behind the High Street in Marlow.  The menu features regional cheeses, charcuterie boards and over 100 carefully selected Italian wines. Hawkyns by Atul Kochhar is in The Crown hotel right in the middle of Amersham Old Town and it has plenty of outside space for al fresco dining. Enjoy the authentic flavours of India with dishes by this two Michelin starred chef and his team under gazebos in the cobbled stone courtyard, then take a wander down the pretty high street and persue the independent retailers.

 

The Dog Friendly Option

The Grange at the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People centre in Sauderton is the perfect place to take your pooch for a spot of breakfast, brunch or lunch. Dogs are welcomed inside where you can help yourself to doggy treats and on the outside terrace, where you can enjoy the sunshine and watch the dogs come and go.The Lions at Bledlow is popular with walkers as it's on the Ridgeway trail, an ancient path once used by herdsmen, soldiers and travellers. Take your dog for a lovely walk in the Chiltern Hills before a refreshing drink or hearty pub meal at this 16th century inn. Megan’s café and restaurant offers Mediterranean-themed all-day dining, with a beach club-style outdoor courtyard opening into Liston Court in Marlow. The menu offers home-made and hearty, freshly cooked meals.
