Feb Half Term Already!

It seems 5 minutes ago it was Christmas, but with half term on the horizon, here's what's happening to entertain the kids in Bucks.

Love and Lambs at Odds Farm Park

Come and see the lambs at this amazing farm with animal encounters and indoor and outdoor play. You may even get to see a lamb being born. Guests can learn all about the lambing process with special talks from their experienced farmers, plus plenty of hands-on crafts and acres of outdoor adventures, indoor fun, and a large restaurant.


Doodle Jam at Waddesdon

From 10am-4pm in half term in the Coach House Gallery at the Stables, Children and adults alike are invited to join in with Doodle Jam, a free, drop-in activity where you can help illustrator Scott Walker colour in giant Waddesdon-inspired doodles. Also, adventure in the newly refurbished Woodland Playground! Featuring a brand-new zip wire, board rider, swings and roundabout with plenty of space to run around, children of all ages are sure to enjoy letting off steam. Once tired out, why not head to the Stables Cafe to refuel? 


February Family Fun at Bletchley Park

Learn more about the Lorenz cipher and the machine designed to break it – Colossus – as Bletchley Park celebrates 80 years since the first Colossus computer was built. These codebreaking sessions are suitable for 7-14 year olds and take place Tuesday 13th to Thursday 15th and then Tuesday 20th to Thursday 22nd February. Also, pick up your ‘TOP SECRET’ Mission Pack from Admissions and explore Bletchley Park solving various puzzles and challenges.


A Week of Family Fun at Discover Bucks Museum

From Monday 12th to Friday 16th February discover a different family craft every day at Discover Bucks Museum in Aylesbury, including 'make a dragon puppet', moveable 80s game, troll-doll planter and more! Plus on Saturday 17th February, bring the whole gang for their free 'Gameshows of the 80s' family day.


Visit the Snowdrops at Stowe Gardens

The National Trust grounds at Stowe are beautiful all year round but up until late February, you can enjoy the white blankets of pretty Snowdrops dotted around the landscape. A great place to take the kids for a walk in the fresh air, with a large cafe for refreshments and gift shop to browse too.


Sing-a-long-a-Encanto at the Aylesbury Waterside

The hit film with catchy songs like 'We Don't Talk About Bruno', is being screened at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on Saturday 10th February and you are invited to come along in fancy dress and sing your heart out with our live host, who will teach you some dance moves and show you how to use your free props bag. A fabulously fun afternoon for all the family.


Piggy Pet and Play at Kew Little Pigs

A unique experience where you can play and groom the adorable pigs at this farm in Amersham. The new bar facility means that customers can have more of an indoor experience if the weather isn't great or if they have accessibility needs.Now is a great time to book this as massive discounted rates apply until May!


Pop Princesses at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

This is a children’s pop concert with a difference. Featuring a soundtrack of top pop hits from artists such as Little Mix, Ariana Grande, Taylor swift. Meghan Trainor and Miley Cyrus, plus all the best songs from popular musicals and films, the four fabulous fairy tale princesses are back on 15th February.


Wonka at the Roald Dahl Museum & Story Centre

Every day during the half-term holiday (except Monday) enjoy storytelling from 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' at this iconic museum that celebrates all things Roald Dahl. Their expert storytellers will read extracts from the book with plenty of actions, noises, and ways to get involved. They'll also be clay modeling - a chocolate box and factory - plus junk modeling to make inventive machines, on different days. You can also head out on a guided tour in the fields and woods surrounding Great Missenden, where the museum is located, which inspired Roald Dahl's stories.


Backstage Tour of Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

Hear anecdotes, learn the history and find out the truth behind your favourite theatre myths and legends on a behind-the-scenes tour of this state-of-the-art theatre. Sat 17th February at 10 am,  ages 8+ (Under 16’s must be accompanied by an over 18).


Animal Encounters Week at Hogshaw Farm

Meet, pet, feed and learn all about the animals at Hogshaw Farm 10th to 25th February. Venture up beyond the wildlife zone to meet Shepherd Rob who will introduce his flock and share insights about the lambing season. With indoor and outdoor play, go-karts, sandpit and cafe too, there's plenty to keep the family entertained.


Megaslam Wrestling at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

The show designed for kids on 18th February features Team Nasty battling it out with Team Megaslam in a series of epic matches designed to get the whole family out of their seats and cheering on their favourites! Grab your foam finger, seat yourself in the Megaslam Arena and get ready to watch the Megastars deliver some jaw-dropping, edge of your seat moves!


Get crafty at Hughenden Manor

Embark on a delightful journey through nature as you follow the QR code birdsong trail and immerse yourself in the beautiful melodies of six charming birds. Make and decorate bird boxes and bat boxes that you can take home for your garden, and enjoy the formal garden and acres of woodland, followed by some refreshments in the courtyard cafe.

Being so close to Pinewood Studios and with 530 acres of woodland, heath and open space, majestic trees and a 14-acre lake, Black Park is a popular location for some of your favourite blockbusters. Come and find out all about it on this family-friendly walk.
