A 'family-friendly museum' in a restored 15thC hall house with many new displays relating to the Amersham area.
Amersham Museum is in the old town of Amersham and is recognised as a 'family-friendly museum' with many displays and lots for children to see and do. There is a 'glis-glis trail' which provides hands-on fun for all and there are special family activity days every Sunday in August. Amersham Museum is part of a Tudor hall house which is over 500 years old and has displays on local history, people and places and an extensive selection of photos of Amersham as it was. There is also a delightful herb garden and wheelchair access to the ground floor and the garden terrace. The museum is open weekends and Bank Holidays, Easter to October plus Wednesday and Thursday from May to September, 14:00-16:30. Town walks every Sunday at 14:30 - Easter - October.

Nearest major road is M40. From M40, jct 2, follow signs to Amersham A355 for 5 miles. At approach to Amersham (do not use bypass) go down hill to Tesco roundabout, turn left into Amersham Old Town and into High Street. Museum on right.Free street parking.
Nearest station is London/Marylebone or underground. From station entrance, turn left. Buses to Old Amersham from Maersham stop a few yards from station entrance. Or walk down hill and right at bottom past Tesco into High Street, museum on right.
