Sir Steve Redgrave

World famous Olympian Sir Steve Redgrave hails from Marlow. The rower, who holds 5 gold medals from 5 successive Olympic Games, attended Great Marlow School, where he first started rowing. He then joined the famous Leander Rowing Club at Henley.

As well as his 5 Olympic Golds (the first in Los Angeles in 1984, the last in Sydney in 2000), Redgrave is also 9 times World Champion and triple Commonweath Champion. There is a statue of Sir Steve in Marlow's Higginson Park to commemorate him becoming Britain's Greatest Olympian after the Sydney 2000 games.

Adrain Moorhouse

Adrain Moorhouse won gold in the 1988 Games in Seoul and is now the Managing Director of Lane 4 a Buckinghamshire based management group and Chairman of the Bucks & Milton Keynes Olympic Co-ordinating Group.

Peter Norfolk won gold at the Athens Paralympic Games in the Quad Wheelchair Tennis, he is hoping to defend his title this summer in Beijing.

Alison Mowbray is an Olympic Silver medalist, she was on the British Rowing team for seven years and competed in five World Championships and two Olympic Games, for the past few years she has lived in Lane End, a village near Marlow.
