Milton's Cottage Restoration Appeal
Milton's Cottage is located in the charming Chiltern village of
Chalfont St Giles. It is a Grade 1 listed building and is the
only house that survives in which John Milton lived.


Milton's Cottage, Chalfont St GilesThe Cottage, which dates from c1480, now houses a museum dedicated to Milton and requires constant repair and maintenance. The Trustees of the Cottage have embarked on a ambitious project to replace the deteriorating fabric of the building and to restore its exterior to the original construction. You can help raise the funds for this vital work!

The Restoration Appeal is supported by The Chiltern Society, details of how to make a donation can be found on their website.


Tourism ExSEllence Awards - Success for Bucks.

The Compleat Angler at MarlowBuckinghamshire tourism businesses were well represented at the 2008 Tourism South East industry awards. The MacDonald Compleat Angler at Marlow won the Large Hotel category and The Five Arrows at Waddesdon was the runner up in the Small Hotel category.

Waddesdon Manor also received a commendation in the Best Tourism Experience category. The winners will go on to compete in the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence in 2009. For further details on the competition click here.
