Activity Challenge - gives everyone a boost, with energetic options from mountain biking to rock climbing, scuba diving, driving a train or just flying a kite.

With the Chiltern Hills, the River Thames and thousands of miles of footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes Buckinghamshire is a great place for active families.

Walking

There are walks suitable for all ages and abilities, for those wanting the challenge of hills and/or long distance trails to those looking for an afternoon stroll with pushchairs and grandparents. A great place to find walks information is on the Chiltern Conservation Board website or try these dedicated sites:

Cycling

If you would rather go on bike than foot then Wendover Woods is an excellent place for all the whole family to explore. And for those who want to enjoy cycling in the countryside but without the mud try the Phoenix Trial from Thame to Princes Risborough.

Climbing

If you want to try something new then why not go to one of the indoor climbing centres:

Parks & Woods

There are always a whole host of things to do in Bucks open spaces; have a family picnic, go on a fitness or orienteering trail, play wide games, watch the birds or just get some fresh air!

Excellent spots for kite flying are Ivinghoe Beacon at Ashridge and Coombe Hill at Wendover.

Aqua and Alpine

Buckinghamshire may be inland and in England but there are still aqua and alpine activities on offer!
