No visit to the Gardens of Bucks would be complete without a visit to the world famous Stowe Landscape Gardens near Buckingham. Described as the finest outdoor work of art in Europe, Stowe is a breathtaking beauty and one of the first and foremost great English landscape gardens. Quainton Gardens - Like many villages in Bucks, Quainton an attractive village in the Vale of Aylesbury, overlooked by a spectacular windmill has a number gardens open as part of the National Gardens Scheme. Quainton Gardens are open on Sunday February 28th & June 13th, enjoy a couple of hours wandering around the open gardens and take time to visit the George & Dragon award winning country pub located on the village green. Allow 1½ hours

Before heading home enjoy a spot of horticultural retail therapy to break up your journey at some of Buckinghamshire's finest garden centres. Try Wyevale Garden Centres at Wendover and Bicester, Waterperry Gardens Nr Thame and/or Waddesdon Plant Centre. All centres have excellent café and toilet facilities, ample coach parking and a fine selection of garden related merchandise. The Wendover Centre is ideally located on a return journey to London via the A41 or A413 whilst Waterperry Gardens and the Bicester Garden Centre are both conveniently located en-route to the M40.
